Overview
eduroam provides a worldwide Wi-Fi network for faculty and staff at more than 30,000 participating locations. The additional security and ease of use make it an ideal choice over traditional guest and open access networks when visiting a participating institution.
Because connection issues are more easily resolved on the local campus, all members of the Tennessee Tech community are encouraged to configure and access eduroam on the Tennessee Tech campus before traveling and using eduroam at another participating institution.
This page describes the current status of connecting Tennessee Tech-managed devices to eduroam. Please see How to Connect to eduroam (Wi-Fi) for Personally Owned Devices to set up personally owned devices, including phones and tablets.
Windows
The eduroam configuration on managed Windows campus devices will be available on campus managed laptops. This software installation will be automatically distributed to each machine, additionally the software can be installed via Software Center to get eduroam configured on a laptop.
How to tell if eduroam is already installed:
- If already deployed the user will see the following icon on their desktop background

- If found, simply double-click on the icon to launch and you will start the configuration installer

- Click "OK" on the informational notice below

- When prompted enter your TNTECH email address for the username field and your account password:

-
Certificate Authority Validation During configuration of the eduroam connection, you may be prompted by a warning dialog from Windows that you are about to install a certificate from a certification authority (CA) claiming to represent eduroamradiusca.tntech.edu. If you would like to verify that you are being prompted to install the correct certificate, you can compare the thumbprint displayed with the known value: "1568B221 43B807F1 D6651AC0 2A1D5102 457CEAFD".

- Once the installer is done click "Finish" and you can then connect to the wireless SSID called "eduroam"

NOTE: If you need to update your configuration in the future please rerun the steps above. This is most commonly done upon a password update or change.
