Printing, Stapling, and Hole Punching on a macOS Machine

Overview

In this article, you will learn how to find and select the correct printer, how to have your print job stapled or hole punched, and how to accept the charges for your print job using a macOS machine.

Step 1 - Choose The Correct Printer

At the computer, click the Print button or option to load a print dialog box from your downloaded file. From the printer listing choose either, Learning Commons Canon Copiers (for Black & White) or Learning Commons Color Copier (for Color). Click Show Details to make your additional selections like number of copies, fit, etc.

If you need your document single sided, stapled, or hole-punched, proceed to Step 2Otherwise, click Print & skip to Step 3.

The sample image below shows a dialog box with a highlight around where you might make the selection. Remember some programs will show a different style box, but the choices should be similar.

Step 2 - Staple | Hole Punch (Optional)

At the computer, with the Print dialog box still open, click on Show Details, if you haven’t already in Step 1.

In the Presets drop down, you can select from options including: Staple & Hole Punch, depending on the functions of the copier.

Then click Print if you have no other changes to make. Proceed to Step 3.

Step 3 - Review & Accept The Print Charges

At the computer, after clicking "Print," wait for the Pharos print charge dialog to show-up so you can accept the print charges. You will be shown the total charged against your print balance. You can either click Yes to accept the charges & print or No to decline the charges & not print.

If you accepted the charges & printed, go to the copier you selected where you will tap your card, select your documents and begin printing.

Remember if your current balance is $0.00, your student account will be billed.
