Overview

This article acts as a catch all for all the different types of accounts and explains which article/service you will need to use in order to Create/Deactivate/Reactivate/Re-enable/Extend your particular account (Vendor, Courtesy, FTE, etc.). Below you will find information explaining each process for each account and what to expect.

FTE Account (Full Time Employee)

The process to Reactivate/Re-enable your FTE account can vary depending on the reason that you your account is disabled. If you are a non-ITS employee, you will not have access to the service request required to submit a ticket. Regardless of the reason, you will need to contact the IT Help Desk first (hepldesk@tntech.edu or 931-372-3975), and they will process your request and tell you the next steps. Your account could be disabled for a number of reasons including:

  • Account Compromise
  • Incomplete Training
  • Suspicious Logins
  • Other (Termination, expired, etc.)

Student Worker Account

All student worker account requests must be made/requested by the student's supervisor.

The student worker account must be extended every semester to keep the account active. Please refer to this article: https://services.tntech.edu/TDClient/1878/Portal/Requests/ServiceDet?ID=44092 to access the form as it will go into greater detail on how to create/extend/deactivate SW accounts.

Vendor Account

Vendor accounts refer to users who are employees of contracted organizations to provide computing resources with TTU's network. Please refer to this article: https://services.tntech.edu/TDClient/1878/Portal/Requests/ServiceDet?ID=47155 for details on how to create/extend/deactivate vendor accounts.

Courtesy Account

All courtesy account requests must be made/requested by the courtesy account's sponsor.

Courtesy accounts are for individuals associated with TTU who are not employees or students. E.g., auditors, volunteers, visiting researchers, clients of capstone projects, etc. You can find more reasons why someone might need a courtesy account and how to create/extend/deactivate accounts here: https://services.tntech.edu/TDClient/1878/Portal/Requests/ServiceDet?ID=49519.

Student Account

Users will be assigned a student account once they have accepted their offer, and will either receive a confirmation from the admissions office via email or mail (Whichever you selected in your application). This will contain your username, your T-Number and details on how to login to your Tech Express account. These accounts are only viable for a year after graduation and will be reactivated if readmitted to TTU. FTEs that are also enrolled in classes will use their FTE account for their studies instead of being given a separate account. For issues regarding your account, please contact the IT Help Desk (hepldesk@tntech.edu or 931-372-3975).
