Overview
In this article, we will discuss the proper process of printing off your resume or other documents on resume paper using a Windows machine. We understand the importance of making a positive and professional first impression to possible employers, which is why we want you to know how to print off your resume on high quality paper to give you that extra professional edge.
Things you will need:
- Eagle Card
- Your TTU Username and Password
- Resume paper
- A digital copy of your resume
Please Note: Tech does not provide resume paper for use in the Library printers
Process:
Windows
- Enter the Library and log into one of the computers located at the workstations behind the front desk.
- If no PCs or Macs are available for you to sit down and use, you can always check out a laptop from the Technology Checkout desk located to the right of the front desk in the Library.
- Once you are logged in, open your resume file and select one of the Learning Common Canon Copiers.
- If your resume has color, make sure to select the Learning Commons Color Copier. This will count more towards your printing balance than typical black and white printing.
- If you want to print on your own paper, you will need to alter the Paper Source and select the Multi-Purpose Tray
- Once you select the printer, click "Preferences" to open the Printer Preferences.
- Go to the Paper Source Tab.
- Swap the Paper Source to "Multi-purpose Tray"
- Click "OK"
- Click "Print."
- Once you accept the charges for the documents that you want to print, go to any of the printers in the library.
- Load your paper in the Multi-Purpose Tray for the printer.
- You will notice on the printers that there are signs that denote the Multi-Purpose Trays.
- Tap your Eagle Card on the tapping location.
- You will see your documents in the print queue on the screen. Confirm that the document quantity, name, and charge amount are what you accepted on the computer.
- Tap print on the screen, and it will begin to print your resume on the paper that you loaded into the printer.
- Make sure to remove any excess resume paper left in the printer.
