What is the Technology Checkout Desk?
The Technology Checkout desk at the Library Learning Commons offers a technology checkout service to currently enrolled TN Tech students whose tuition includes the Technology Access Fee. Technology is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

NOTE: Faculty and staff are not permitted to checkout items, even if they are also a student.

Individuals wishing to check out equipment MUST have their EagleCard to check out equipment.

Patron Responsibilities
While in possession of checked-out equipment:
- borrowers are responsible for ensuring that the equipment is returned in operating condition. Any item that is returned in a damaged state, as determined by the Student Technology Checkout Desk, will result in a Damaged Item Fee for its repair OR the Lost Item Fee if the item is not repairable as determined at the Technology Access Fee's discretion.
- borrowers are responsible for their own data. We recommend saving data to portable or cloud-based storage solutions. We cannot guarantee that data left on a device will be recoverable at a future date. All files will be erased after the computer is returned.
- borrowers must return the technology to a Technology Checkout desk staff member. No items should be left unattended at either the Technology Checkout desk or the Library Circulation Desk.
Fee Definitions
- Overdue Item Fee: overdue item fees are assessed daily for a period of 2 times the checkout period not to exceed a total of 14 days beyond the original due date.
- Lost Item Fee: lost item fees are assessed following the item exiting the overdue item period. Returning a lost item will remove the lost item fee.
- Damaged Item Fee: damaged item fees are assessed a fee equivalent to the repair cost of the item or replacement cost if item is deemed beyond repair.
